Yog Niketan Dham
At Yog Niketan Dham, we take pride in ensuring that our students and guests enjoy their stay with us. We understand that our surroundings play a major role in our daily life, which is why we do our best to offer our students as much tranquility and peace as possible. Also, we believe in following a yogic lifestyle at our ashram meaning that we constantly try to inspire and motivate our residents to live an authentic life.
All our students are provided with spacious, hygienic rooms with all necessary comforts that make their stay with us enjoyable and memorable. Our staff ensures complete cleanliness of the place, but we also encourage our students to maintain a tidy living environment around them. At the ashram, we believe in living together like a big, happy family. And, thus, any help and suggestions are not only welcome but highly appreciated.
Last but not the least, our extremely efficient and helpful mentors ensure that all your queries are responded at the earliest, and that you transition smoothly into the culture, etiquettes, and lifestyle around the campus as well as the city.
According to Yogic Science and Therapy, what we consume plays a significant role in our daily life. To ensure that we have a good quality of life, it is important to be mindful towards what we eat and drink. At the same time, we value our rich culinary heritage and try our best to provide our students with a taste of India that they will remember for a lifetime.
Our caring kitchen staff takes great consideration in preparing nutritious, yogic meals for all our students. All our students are provided with four complimentary meals per day – breakfast, lunch, high tea, and dinner.
We follow a strict yogic method of preparing all our dishes that are in accordance with the requirements of Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga. At the same time, we follow the principles of Ayurvedic cooking for our meals, so the food products used in our cooking yield you the maximum health benefits.
While we do not have any apprehensions towards meals outside, we encourage our students to try and stick to the yogic meals provided at the ashram for the duration of their stay. This is suggested only so that they can get the best out of their yogic lifestyle at our ashram.
Our teachings of yoga highlights that the practice is much more than physical aspects. In fact, a yogic way of life includes every segment of your body and mind as well as life. To reap the maximum benefits of your stay with us, it is important that you focus equally on your posture and poses as well as breathing, meditation, diet, and everything related.
To ensure that your yoga journey with us flows smoothly, we provide you with all the necessary study material that you may require during the course of your teaching training. Every student is provided with a super-packed yoga kit that not only includes the textbooks and stationery you require during your course but also necessary tools such as a yoga mat, a comfortable t-shirt, a backpack for all your items, as well as the neti pots you require.
At the same time, our gurus and mentors are always available to answer any queries you may have regarding your practice or your life in general in the ashram. Additionally, we expect our students to take necessary notes during their classes so they can have them handy to use for their future reference.
Our ashram is located in the spiritual town of Devprayag. Surrounded by the majestic Himalayas and located on the banks of Holy River Ganges, the town offers the best atmosphere needed to undergo an effective yoga training. At the same time, the town’s blessed landscape offers endless excursion opportunities for our students.
Every week, the ashram organizes small trips around the vicinity where our students get to explore many waterfalls, ancient caves, and other local places of importance. We believe that these excursions are a great way for you to take a break from the intense practice and get in touch with the nature around you.
Depending on weather conditions, the school organizes a free river rafting experience for all the interested students. During the rafting, everyone gets to experience the thrill of chasing the rapids of Holy Ganges and enjoy a refreshing dip in the sacred waters of the Ganges, which according to Hinduism helps in washing away past sins and attain salvation.
