Practicing yoga and meditation has been known to improve the quality of life amongst human beings. As several health specialists have proven, following a yogic lifestyle improves eating and sleeping patterns, reduces stress and anxiety disorders, increases metabolism, induces a sense of happiness and fulfilment, and makes us more compassionate towards nature and other living beings around us as well as ourselves. Considering all these factors and much more, our 28 day Yoga and Meditation retreat in Devprayag and Rishikesh has been devised to transform your current lifestyle and bless it with harmony and tranquility.
During the program, our retreat guests are rewarded with an opportunity to learn and practice ancient yoga forms such as Hatha and Ashtanga, pranayama, breathing techniques, yoga therapies, as well as basic Ayurveda lessons. Additionally, you get to immerse yourself in intensive yogic studies as well as teachings of yoga philosophy, mantra chanting, and Shatkarma.
It must be noted that our meditation program is greatly influenced by the practices of Vipassana meditation, a form of meditation that was preached and practiced by Buddha himself, thousands of years ago. To keep up with the basics of Vipassana, we follow and encourage our guests to follow certain principles of importance during the course – Ahimsa (non-violence), Mauna (silence), Brahmacharya (celibacy), Aparigraha (non-collectiveness) and the likes. We also instill certain Tantra Yoga practices in our program as it is a part of the ancient yogic system.
While we try our best to ensure that our guests make the best out of their time practicing yoga and meditation with us, we also take complete care that you have a memorable time here with us. This is why, we include various adventure activities and sightseeing excursions as a part of our 28 day yoga and meditation retreat in Devprayag. During their time with us, you would be able to enjoy trekking the different nature trails around us, hike to several mountain temples, visit the banks of Holy Ganges, as well as explore many other places of cultural and spiritual relevance.
Though our yoga and meditation retreat programs follow a certain schedule and plan, we are happy to offer tailored sessions at a nominal fee to the interested guests. The fee doesn’t include food and accommodation, unless otherwise requested by the participant.
We understand that our retreat guests desire utmost serenity and a chance to instill yoga in their daily life. Keeping these factors in mind, our 28 days yoga and meditation retreat guests can expect:

At Yog Niketan Dham, we structure our courses and daily plans keeping in accordance with the essentials of the yogic way of life. And, we believe that sheering to this structure only enhances the experience for our students. We must understand that yoga is not just about postures and a few theoretical lessons; instead, it is a way of life. And, to completely transform your life according to the principles of yoga, it is essential that you strictly follow the guidelines of our ashram.
Additionally, we understand that our students come from different countries and cultural background. And, we believe in sharing our mutual respect for every culture and their beliefs. In return, we ask that our students feel the same about our culture and of those other students that they live and study with.
Furthermore, our values and principles are based on the traditional form of yogic practice. Though we respect all disciplines of yoga, we highly discourage our students from practice of Apbhrans (modified forms) of yoga during the course. Our students must understand that most of the contemporary yogic forms deal with only physical exercise and not the actual fundamentals of ancient yoga.
Last but not the least, we practice satvik living at the ashram, meaning that non-vegetarian food items, smoking, and drinking are strictly prohibited. We do not tolerate any form of intoxication. Being under the influence of any such substance is a cause for immediate termination without any refunds.
At Yog Niketan Ashram, we believe in keeping our website up to date with the latest course details and booking dates. This means that if you see a program on our website for a specific month, rest assured that the course is available to book.
All students must deposit a registration fee to secure their position in the course. The registration fee is 25% of the course fee; the remaining 75% can be paid upon their arrival at the ashram.
